How do I prevent my cartridge from clogging?

Clogging commonly occurs when excess vapor cools and then condenses along the walls of the inner cartridge. When enough of this vapor has resolidified into oil, the buildup can block the airway and make it difficult or impossible to draw air through the mouthpiece.

There are two easy solutions, One to prevent the problem and the other to solve it.

1. To reduce the buildup of vapor oil, continue pulling on the cart several seconds after releasing the button. By drawing cold air through the mouthpiece, you are siphoning excess oil that would otherwise stick to the sides, ensuring less condensation. This is by far the most effective way to prevent blockage. Taking softer hits will also help preserve the life of your vape cartridge. Pulling too hard can draw excess oil into the airway instead of vapor, which leads to clogging. This is known as a “flooded” cart, because the oil has flooded the airway. 

2. If your cartridge is already showing signs of blockage, try these steps to get back up and running.

A blocked cartridge usually means the airflow is stuck. Here’s a simple way to fix it, step by step:

• Step 1: Inhale normally. If your vape battery has a button, press it while inhaling to warm the oil. Stop pressing before you burn the coil. Keep inhaling until you hear a pop. If not, go to step 2.

• Step 2: Blow gently into the mouthpiece. It might seem strange, but it can push the oil down. Put your lips on the mouthpiece and blow, like inhaling in reverse. If that doesn’t work, try step 3.

• Step 3: Hold the cartridge in your hand for 5 minutes to warm the oil. Repeat steps 1 and 2. If nothing helps, move to step 4.

• Step 4: Use a paper clip if the other steps fail. Unscrew the cartridge and unfold a paper clip to make it long. Gently insert it into the airhole of the mouthpiece to clear the blockage. Don’t go too deep to avoid damaging the hardware. If this doesn’t work, proceed to step 5.

• Step 5: If the cartridge is unscrewed, clean where it connects to the pen with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. If the problem persists, the issue might be with the vape battery. If not, your cartridge could be broken, and you might need a replacement.

Why does my cartridge taste burnt?

There is a chance your coil is burnt. If you don't do the following vape good practices to prevent coil burn out, start now with these tips:

1. It’s important to make sure your vape cartridge is fully primed before use in order to prevent burning your coil and creating a bad taste while vaping. The first thing you should do is identify that the 4 intake holes at the base of the cartridge are fully covered by oil. If they aren’t then you will need to wait until they are covered before you attempt to use the cartridge (no air pockets/bubbles in the way).

2. If the holes are covered, use a short 1-2 second preheat and take a short hit to test if you get vapor. If yes, continue to use as the coil is primed.

-If you aren’t getting vapor or if the intake holes aren’t covered you will need to wait until the holes are covered by storing the cartridge upright and for the oil to fall and saturate the coil. Note this can take over 24 hours due to the thickness of the oil. A way to accelerate the process is by heating the bottom half of the cartridge with a hairdryer for ~60 seconds or until oil has fully covered the intake holes. This can also be done by putting the cartridge in a plastic bag and using a tool to submerge the bag in hot water while keeping the cartridge vertical.

Once intake holes are covered, attempt to hit your cartridge. If you still cannot produce vapor, repeat the reheat process.

Our vape cartridges are compatible to any 510 battery.  Batteries are not included with our vapes and must be purchased separately.

How do I unclog my disposable vape?

Disposable vape devices are easy, until they aren't. Luckily now, most disposable units are able to be recharged and some of them even have a preheat button to help when things get sticky (pun intended). The distillate in these devices is very thick made worse by cold temperatures or when not in use for long periods of time. 

We've all been there, you go to take a pull off your device and nothing happens. If you find yourself in this common sticky situation there is a solution.

1. Simply make a tight seal with your mouth around the charge port and blow through the charge port. Yep, it should pop the clog and blow a cloud through the mouthpiece. Mind blown.

Charging your disposable

Read the manufacturer recommendations on how to properly charge your device. In general, it is recommended to not charge your device longer than 30 minutes, most reaching a full charge in 15. WARNING! Leaving a device on the charger too long can burn your coil and cause permanent damage.
